THERE’S ONLY ONE BAHRAIN

A country called Bahrain

Found flowing through my vein

Where Al-Khalifa majestically reign

Pray... may it long remain

When my hearts full of pain

And I feel the days never ending strain

Driving excitedly down the fast lane

Oh my sorrow, oh how it wanes

Now let me just explain

Why I love this unique domain

How my heart beats to its name

My dreams oh they just can’t be contained

On this land, lies a wonder of no restrain

People that are kind and humane

A kingdom of democracy yet constrain

Oh lord, please may I come again

Its secret remains arcane

Jealous eyes, have drawn up and filed complains

Digged, buried and fired up their cranes

Oh but will they make another Bahrain

Few might think I’m insane

Some might think I’m inane

But ... I know most will refrain

Cause they’ve never been to Bahrain

A small land, the size of a grain

But its magic is hard to obtain

Its beauty is not judged by might or terrain,

Or climate or wealth or some ad campaign

Orphans’ were taken in without a gain

The elderly are never left out to deign

Widows, disabled and the poor none were treated inhumane

Everyone found a home in my Bahrain

I ascertain, I swain

I’m in love with this Bahrain

Where red and white flags fly (and) no one abstains

Long, may your history be free of any stains

This island of many chains

Muharraq, Manama, Sitra and Riffa... one Bahrain

Where traditions mix in an almost free rein

Oh the wonder of this island, that never ceases to entertain

Whether you’re a national, local, tourist or an urbane

All are welcome in the Oasis of Bahrain

Where music and sports, art and culture inter-twain

I know this sounds a tad too vain

But, believe me, I tried and my brain just couldn’t explain

Why this land is so special, free of any disdain

How it feels like home, I wish it’ll stay the same

Oh if only they knew, that there's only one Bahrain!
