THE BIRTH OF A PEARL

Just as someone sprayed grey stars into a fading sky

An unseen hand with artistic flourish

Brushed in random shades of orange and pink

The blob of a remorseful sun licked

On cotton candy clouds blushing with borrowed hues

As the waters washed up tidy rocks

Feverishly rising in an act of romantic kiss

Just then…..

With quiet and subtle humour

A pearl broke open from an oyster

And bubbled up from the Arab waters

Settling calmly, bashfully

Hesitating but boldly reticent

Peeking slowly at the artwork of a benevolent creator

Winking smilingly as the supreme artist welcomed

A delightful introduction of

A little pearl

In the vast canvas of the painting

Shining, glimmering in the sheen of a white moon

Giggling with the tickle of a new born baby

That looked like a drop of water which stayed afloat

As the jaws of nature dropped

The sky scratched its head with the tail of a distant comet

The sands of dunes crossed paths hurriedly

Whispering in awe

As the pearl shaped up

And started growing

Coming alive, vibrating with heart beats

Smiling at an ever changing sky

And until now…

Some unseen hand caresses its majestic head

Blessing it, loving it

As the pearl gently dances

To a perfumed breeze which sings its name as it passes by:

Bahrain.
