BAHRAIN IS THE BEST

Having lived for two eventful years in beautiful Bahrain, I now grow nostalgic and dreamy over memories of the island...

Yes, I certainly miss the island and I carry sweet thoughts

of television and videos showing a suspenseful movie,

for in Bahrain, entertainment - especially visual -

has always been quite sensational and groovy!

I used to love the latest movies and comedy serials,

telecast from the wild, wild west,

especially soaps, like; Dynasty, Knots Landing,

The Bold and Beautiful and Falcon Crest!

I fondly remember the hotels and the famous Indian night,

which gives a full rein to the appetite with every tasty bite,

Due to the humidity and sultry heat, I got so used to the A/C,

especially when travelling in Mitsubishi and cars that are racy.

I reminisce over Arabic sandwiches, halwa, fruits, fish and dates,

And food brought from all over the world in heavy brown crates,

I won't forget all the gold-decorated stalls in the bustling souq,

and my winning of a Radio Bahrain sticker - but that was a fluke!

I can't forget the dhow, the handicrafts, the delicacies and pearls,

well embellished and glittering forth from the neck of Bahraini girls,

Of tourist resorts are the museum, the mosques, and the burial grounds,

the forts silhouetting history and so, too, the historical graveyard mounds,

I especially miss auspicious Friday and not Sunday as the day of rest,

For logically speaking, don't you think that of all islands, Bahrain is the best?
